The XRD lab is run by Prof.
Christie Rowe. Please email Christie to arrange training or
XRD lab access.
There are two levels of users in the XRD lab. If you wish to perform simple analyses on your own, you make take a 2-hour training which will certify you to book time on the instrument and operate in Bragg- Bretano mode. Basic XRD users are not permitted to bring extra people into the lab or perform analyses on behalf of other people. Basic XRD training can be arranged for groups of 2-5 people. Check calendar below for upcoming scheduled training or email Christie to set up a session. Advanced users are certified to change the optical configuration on the XRD, change sample stages, and use microdiffraction functions without supervision. Advanced users are well-versed in the basic theory of x-ray diffraction and have specialized analysis needs.
