What are the employment opportunities for EPS graduates?
Our graduates commonly go on to pursue rewarding careers in a variety of fields. These include, but are not restricted to, careers in:
- Resource exploration - supplying the world's energy, mineral and metal needs
- Environmental studies - prevention and remediation of natural and anthropogenically induced problems
- Fundamental research - laying the scientific groundwork that will take us to other planets and lead to better living conditions here on Earth.
Earth and Planetary Sciences graduates establish careers with private companies, government agencies or universities. Some of these options are best pursued by continuing your education in a graduate degree program. Current workforce demographics in the mineral and petroleum industries, academia and elsewhere are leading to a strong demand for earth science professionals. Furthermore, our program provides an academically rigorous science degree that will allow graduates to pursue rewarding careers outside of the Earth and Planetary Sciences.
